[Here we are, looking worse than ever.

[The more we struggle and squirm, the more damage we do to this body. It does not work. We've figured that out already. If we force our escape, so does the magic.

[Worse yet, she has backed into her soul, and somehow we find ourselves on the opposing end. We aren't certain when she'll decide to take control over her own body again.

[The doctors are terrified, but it isn't worth a prolonged stay in the infirmary. We do not feel pain.

[So, we search for the single person to whom we can comfortably speak. You must be in some hall here or there. Or maybe you're asleep on a bench again.]

We had a fight. You realize...we're both dying due to circumstance. We blamed each other, and in the heat of the moment, I struggled to escape and damaged her body, and after that she vanished. It was absolutely idiotic. Now this body must make regular trips to the infirmary.

She may be having...trouble coming to terms with this problem. And I must myself slight, since I can't completely feign her personality, and search for a solution for her so long as she refuses to speak.

[It's not our nature to be blunt, but we'll be blunt.]

She learned how to do this. [We raise our hand, and it bursts into white flame.] It's not holy magic, it's pure destructive magic, and that's what's been eating through both me and herself. It's completely useless unless you're completely intent on annihilating someone, soul and all.

So she is capable of wielding an absurd amount of power. If we can't stop or regulate its production, then the results are as you said. But she is confused and terrified, and may very well take her own life. I haven't tested what this magic is capable of, but it's safe to say we want to prevent a disaster from happening.

[And yes, we're asking for your help.]

Oh, fuck it.

Let me get this straight: You guys have gotten handed a magic bomb that neither of you is quite sure how to use. For whatever reason Fia's body is overproducing it, and you're both worried about tinkering with it because you can destroy people with it, potentially yourself, and now that you two have had a spat, she's considering using it to off herself and maybe you too because it's made her that freaked-out and emo?!!

[epic palm to face here, but that's not gonna last too long.]

Listen. D'you know if you can use this on things and not people? If you could practice destroying objects with it, you can learn to control it better, at least.

...in any case, though, killing herself with that kind of magic is just insane. Leaving aside the consequences of destroying a soul--there are people that care about you who'd be devastated if you died, both of you. Sure, suicide might be able to prevent some kind of cataclysm, but it won't save either of you.

And it's not what we're aiming for. So we have to find some way for you to practice.

...It's magical fire. [Quite an anticlimax.] It can burn through anything, tangible or intangible. So of course we could practice, as long as we have some mages around who can put the fires out.

Cool. I'll get our Mr. Student Council President to pull a few strings--he owes me a favor, I just got him a new underling--and you two will be all set up to practice. That way things should get easier. And if there are any problems, we'll take things as they come.

Uh. [fuck, this is gonna hurt to say, but it's in your best interests.] My--ex, Seth. She's got experience in this kind of thing, she might be able to give you better advice than me.



[...that. really. hurt to say.] I think you know her, but the point is that she can do what you can only bigger. So, yeah, good resource for asking questions on how to get control of your magic.

If there's anything else--I'm always here to look out for you guys. Always. Even if Fia is off in her corner of cosmic angst, even if you have no idea what to do after this, I'm here and we'll figure something out. ...I'm happy you came to me now.

Seth? Fia knows her; I'll keep her in mind.

And I'll see what I can do. I...am not accustomed to this body, so I can't wield her magic properly. It will take some time.
